5.4 Leverage innovation from existing local industry sectors.
Action Item Description
The City’s economic development team should continue working with key partners such as K-State Innovation Partners and the KSU Foundation to leverage existing assets such as the University, Fort Riley, and NBAF (National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility). Leveraging these assets can lead to growth and amplify the promotion and attraction of science, technology, and researchbased industries. Innovation-based assets and infrastructure can create economic diversification that will attract companies and high-wage jobs needed for the community to grow.
